The debottlenecking project was a collaborative effort between Worley Parson’s and Como. Como prepared a revised design criteria and issued to WP for the rectification project.

Key improvements were:

  • Replace primary flotation concentrate and cleaner flotation feed hoppers with larger ones.
  • Install dissipaters on end of rougher flotation cell concentrate launders.
  • Install new Warman pumps 300LF on primary flotation concentrate and cleaner flotation feed hoppers to increase pumping capacity.
  • Replace pyrite thickener feed launder with large diameter pipe to increase volumetric capacity.
  • Replace TPP thickener feed drop box with larger drop box to prevent overflows.
  • Install Outotec Flow boosters to primary and rougher flotation cells.
  • Install Sonartrak flowmeters on primary flotation concentrate and cleaner flotation feed pumps.
  • Trial of Cytec defoamer to control spillage from primary flotation concentrate and cleaner flotation feed hoppers by decreasing froth factor and increasing pump efficiency.
