Como Engineers has successfully completed the onsite construction of a 6-tonne Pressure Zadra gold elution plant in Indonesia. The plant was pre-assembled and pre-commissioned at our Perth workshop, ensuring a streamlined installation process once onsite.
A Como Engineers supervisor led a small local crew to reassemble the plant, which had been transported in sea containers. Every inch of container space was optimised to minimise transport volume. Compared to traditional stick-built plants requiring multiple truckloads, our modular approach significantly reduces truck movements, diesel consumption, and overall transport footprint.
Our installation method is designed for efficiency. With a compact team onsite for just a few weeks, we eliminate the need for large crews over extended periods. This not only lowers costs but also reduces the environmental impact associated with crew logistics and accommodation.
From the moment the sea containers were opened to final assembly, the build was completed in just three weeks.
Next, Como Engineers will deploy a Process Engineer and a Programmer to commission the plant. Commissioning typically takes two weeks, after which the site will be ready to celebrate its first gold pour.
Stay tuned—we’ll soon be commissioning another Pressure Zadra gold elution plant in Tanzania (but more on that story later).
