Ensuring it is Done Right

Due diligence by the owner of a Processing Plant requires that they engage suitably qualified personnel to recover the maximum value from a plant when it is being shut down. Most site based personnel are experts at operating a plant but can rapidly loose enthusiasm as they search for alternative employment. Como Engineers offers a comprehensive and secure clean up and maintenance program to cater for this need.

Site Inspection
Site inspection by an independent party is an important first step. Independence and impartiality is paramount.

Procedure Development
Development of a procedure to follow is necessary to avoid personnel missing the key objectives of, obtaining the maximum gold and precious metals recovery whilst enhancing the resale value of the plant

Security
It is important to ensure independent and unbiased personnel take control of the site prior to shutdown. The most effective time is when crusher feed has stopped, the mill is run out and the carbon from the first tank is stripped and cleaned up.

Continuation
It is important that all equipment is left in running order and that tank agitators are left running.

Systematic Approach
Como Engineers uses an approach that systematically turns off all equipment and stages the closure that ensures no damage or theft occurs from the site. Many thousands of dollars are lost in a shutdown when the plant is not decommissioned properly and mothballed to ensure deterioration of valuable equipment does not occur during storage.

Reporting
Reports act as audits and cataloging for future sales and insurance valuation needs. Accurate details of the plant, its condition and value are important to anybody interested in restarting, purchasing or relocating the plant. Often zero dollar values are given to equipment if its history or condition are unknown.

Objectivity
Como Engineers give an independent objective view of equipment which is accepted throughout the mining industry. It is our livelihood and we guard it with great diligence.
